An overspeeding bus on the Haryana roadways overturned in Panchkula on Monday morning. As many as 40 schoolchildren were among those who suffered injuries. The accident took place near Naulta village in the Pinjore area.
According to the witnesses, the driver of the Haryana roadways bus was overspeeding. Subsequently, he lost control and the bus overturned and was dragged along the road for a bit. It was completely packed with passengers as they were traveling for school and office during the morning time.
According to the police, the overloading of the bus and the bad condition of the roads are also among the reasons that could have led to the accident.
All injured people have been taken to Pinjore Hospital and Sector Civil Hospital in the city. A female passenger, who is reportedly critical after the morning crash, has been referred to PGI Chandigarh.
